Wedding Ceremony Music: You can’t beat live Musicians!!!

January 31st, 2013 Reynolds Treasures

Your wedding ceremony should set a tone with romance.  Live musicians are the best selection for a wedding ceremony.  Hire the DJ for the reception!   As a wedding coordinator, I recommend the live musicians for the ceremony, and have included it in many of my wedding packages!  When I am a wedding officiant, the live music really sets the tone.  The guests appreciate the soft harmonious tones from the live instruments!  It is the special piece of your wedding ceremony you should not over look!

I had the pleasure to first work with Austin Fitzhenry of Coastal Chamber Musicians on October 7, 2012 on the long pier at Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina. The music was perfect, the professionalism above board, their love for the music and providing the best service was apparent.

Here is the interview with Austin:

1. Introduce yourself.

I started Coastal Chamber Musicians so that I could share my passion for music with others instead of taking a job that has less meaning.  I grew up in a musical family, and always wanted music in my life.  It’s tremendously rewarding to bring smiles to people’s faces – especially newly-weds – through music.

2. Tells us a little about your business.

Our goal at Coastal Chamber Musicians is to provide one of the most poignant features of any wedding: music.  Music creates and brings back memories like little else.  It’s the language of emotion.  This creates a tremendous opportunity for us to work with brides and customize our music to their special preferences and help create an unforgettable day.

3. When did you begin your business?

Myself and my two sisters have played instruments since childhood, and many years ago we began to play together more and more for weddings.  Then, 10 years ago, we founded Coastal Chamber Musicians to bring our music to even more events.  We’ve been playing together essentially all our lives, and have a combined 40 years of musical experience.  This makes for a very, very well oiled machine when it comes to playing music, old or new!  Since then, we have also expanded off of that core group to include more musicians.

4. What made you want to be part of the event?

We are always looking to reach out to more couples.  Marriage is a one-time event, so few people have the experience to know how and where to look for the services they require.  This event is perfect for providing couples that opportunity.

 5. Where is your business located?

 Charleston,SC

 6. Do you travel, and if so do you charge a travel fee?

We travel constantly throughout the season, from Georgia to North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.  That’s why we call it Coastal Chamber Musicians.  Our travel fee depends on location and the musician combination.

7. Do you offer wedding packages? Describe them.

We offer flat rates that include unlimited special requests and prelude, ceremony, and postlude wedding music.  A trio –the best sound for the best price – costs $600.  We offer a 66% reduction (down to $200) for a second hour, say for cocktail hours or reception.  That’s a pricing that a lot of people like that they don’t find elsewhere.

 8. Describe your niche or specialty.

We specialize in customization.  We simply will work with any preference a client has to try to make it work.  We have a huge variety of music genres to customize to your taste.  We give free consultations.  We work with you to make everything perfect.  That’s our specialty.

9. What is your role for the Feb. event?

To provide fantastic music for the ceremony!

10. Anything else you would like brides and grooms to know about you and your business.

Our priority is service and satisfaction.  Brides can call me directly whenever they like if they have a question.  They can come by our studio to hear a particular song, live.  They can meet for coffee to get some questions answered.   We do everything we can to make things perfect.  Your wedding should be YOUR special day.
